Ulysses S. Grant Inauguration 150th Anniversary Commemorative Coin


The Grant Monument Association is pleased to offer this limited edition coin commemorating the 150th anniversary of General Ulysses S. Grant’s first inauguration in 1869.



The coin features a relief of Grant’s image taken from a photo early in his presidency on the front. The back has the inauguration date, March 4, 1869, and two phrases taken from his inaugural address: “without prejudice, hate, or sectional pride” and “security of person, property, and free religious and political opinion.” The coin measures 1.75” in diameter and is antique gold (bronze-tone) die struck plated iron. Each coin is enclosed in a PVC clear sleeve.
